WHY TREES

From the beginning, trees have furnished us with two of life’s essentials, food and oxygen, tree clean the air and provide us with quality air, absorbs pollutant, filters particulates out of the air by trapping them on their leaves and barks, the benefit of tress cannot be over emphasized. Urban area requires proper tree planning to utilize the passive cooling effect of trees through its shading efficiency. Puregreen Africa Initiative believes that planting trees is one of most effective ways of mitigating climate change in Africa, trees has huge potentials for carbon drawdown. Trees, shrubs, turfs are natural carbon sinks, as different trees spices offer different cooling effect, trees controls climate by moderating the effect of the sun, rain and wind, planting trees in our environment is the only narrow escape from some effect of climate change.
